APC Reschedules Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Rally in Oyo State
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo has postponed its presidential rally, which was set to take place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan on Tuesday. The postponement was decided by the Governor Simon Lalong-led Presidential Campaign Council due to the current state of the nation.
The Tinubu/Shettima statewide campaign rally, which was originally planned for January 9, has now been rescheduled for February 7 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
As preparations for the rally reached their peak, news of the postponement came from Abuja. The Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, expressed regret over the indefinite postponement and stated that it was necessary due to the current challenges facing the nation, including the fuel scarcity, implementation of the federal government’s cashless policy, and the redesigning of local currency.
Sadare emphasized that the Oyo APC was determined to go ahead with the event in order to prevent anti-democratic forces from sabotaging the general elections. Although a new date has not been set, Sadare assured the public that Ibadan will host Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the near future and that it will be a huge success. He appealed for calm among the citizens and urged them to keep focused on their goal of having Tinubu become the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
